Everybody Everywear: Lace

I had a white eyelet and lace sundress picked out for this month’s challenge but the weather wasn’t interested – and I’m okay with that! It was cool and lovely (albeit with a bit of wind) and not even close to the miserably hot summer day it could have been otherwise. So I wore this instead. Sequins with lace? Eh, why not?!

I had taken this past Saturday off of work (normally I work Saturdays – every Saturday) with the intent to go to Kansas City and see “The King and I” at Starlight Theatre (especially since Lou Diamond Phillip was the King!). But we ended up not going. The 3 hour drive and the prospect of spending cash and staying overnight didn’t appeal at all. So instead we stayed home. We did end going to breakfast at a place we love that is always super busy on Sundays and we tried to go to a couple of different festivals downtown (art and a food/carnival festival) but could not find a parking space that was within a 15 minute walk. Two festivals downtown in the same area PLUS the Missouri River flooding will do that. So instead we checked out the river to see how bad the flooding is (not good!!!) and ended up at home just relaxing the day away. Not bad at all!

I adore this necklace! Nothing says “hey look at me – the Geek!” like this necklace does. The chain broke on this not too long after this photo was taken so I ended up replacing it with something a little different. Much prefer the darker colored chain with this charm anyhow.

  1. That lace top is adorable. And I love that necklace – I wish I’d found it when buying a birthday present for my friend who’s a huge Doctor Who fan! (Oh well, I got her a “Keep Calm and Exterminate Exterminate Exterminate” shirt instead, and that’s just as awesome.)

Of course! I’m almost afraid to say that Matt might rival David…might…either way loving it! And I seriously had no idea who River Song is but it fits so perfectly!
