I’m a voracious reader. One of the first books I ever read that truly stayed with me was “The Diary of Anne Frank“. So much so that I still, rather desperately, want to visit the Anne Frank House – oh and well the Van Gogh Museum as well. But anyway…one of her protectors, Miep Gies, has passed away at 100. What an amazing life!
I remember reading her book detailing her time during World War 2 and have never forgotten how amazingly wonderful and brave this woman is! She alone remains one of my few heroes. We should all be as brave as Miep and everything that could have happened to her as a result. She never seemed like she was afraid for herself, only the others involved. A woman that is truly an inspiration and should always be commended.
